
School History
St. Francis Xavier Preparatory School first opened its doors in September 1996. The vision of founding pastor, Reverend Edward J. Byington, the school opened with grades five through eight. Its first headmaster was Mr. Stephen Kenney. The first class graduated in June 1997.
In 2002, the school received a ten-year accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Recent physical plant enhancements have modernized the building and refurbished its appearance, reflecting it properly as a place of warmth and welcome. A new, modern science lab and new library were created in the summer of 2004. In the summer of 2005, a new computer lab was created and the classrooms were air conditioned. In the 2006 school year, completion of "SmartRoom" technology was completed in ten of the school's classrooms.
The school is steadfast it its dedication to excellence and toward providing a top notch environment which nurtures learners. Daily, the school is set on its course to live out its motto to have our Lord Teach Us holiness, wisdom, truth, humility, mercy, peacefulness, charity, patience, and kindness.

| Saint Francis Xavier Preparatory School is a faith community rooted in the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church. We are committed to meeting the needs of early adolescents, grades five through eight, throughout Cape Cod. We seek to provide a challenging curriculum which will prepare students for success in competitive secondary school environments. We seek to foster academic excellence and to promote harmony with self, with others, and with God in a caring environment centered on the gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ. |
